As a student in Seattle Pacific University’s Alternative Route to Certification program, I get the opportunity to show my competence and path to (hopeful) excellence in the classroom on this blog. A requirement of the SPU program is to show my competency through the Washington state teaching standards on this blog, as well as document my progress throughout the year.
The main page will serve as the weekly update center. I will be posting at least a blog entry per week on the main page where I will discuss a variety of topics related to teaching. They may involve my own thoughts on teaching or prompted entries by professors in which I will write about a specific subject.
The four standards pages (STLP) are where I post a Washington State standard and my understanding of that particular standard.
